Jean-Luc TRANCART

Graduate from École Nationale Supérieure d’Agronomie de Rennes (1975)

Jean Luc is an agronomist.

He is professor of water policies at the ENPC and Consultant.

His professional career is entirely dedicated to the water sector: he started in the Water Agency of the SeineRiver, a public body dedicated to the river Seine management. He also worked for the French Minister of Environment as advisor for health and water issues.

For the water industry he was hired by Veolia and then Suez-Environment where he held successive positions such as: R&D, Commercial manager, Customer services and communication manager, Senior Vice President and spokesman of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT. As CEO of a local water company in South-West France, he managed water supply and sanitation services for 2 million customers.

 Jean Luc is a Senior Professor and head of the water department at the ENPC (Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chassées). He also teaches at “Science-Po Paris” and in the engineering school of the City of Paris.

He has been a board member of the French water industry Association and of Institut de la Gestion Déléguée (a Foundation which associates governmental bodies, politicians, economists and corporate managers on issues such as public service management, PPP, etc.). Formerly head of the board of the CIEau (the French water industry information center), he remains a member.

Jean Luc Trancart is also head of the board of EGID (Master degree in hydrogeological sciences) and member of the scientific committee of the CNAM.
